what is pomocon?

The name pomocon is a combination of Pomodoro and concentration. pomocon implements the classic Pomodoro Techinique, which calls for 25 minute work intervals, called Pomodoros. Each Pomodoro is followed by a short break (5 minutes). After 4 Pomodoros, a longer break is advised (10 or 15 minutes). Taking this protocol as maximum efficiency, we can compare your times and determine your own efficiency.

We created pomocon as our project for our first hackathon, HackDavis 2021. The theme of HackDavis 2021 was for the betterment of social good. Due to COVID-19, we are spending much more time cooped up inside our rooms. When spending so much time and taking care of all of our responsibilites in one space, it can be quite overwhelming and harder to differentiate time to work from time to relax, especially for students. Therefore, using pomocon can help us take back control of our time.

Hello! I am a Computer Science Major and Communications Minor at Sacramento State. My expected graduation is May 2022. In addition to my academic goals, I compete for the Sac State Men's Tennis Team.

When I was young I was fascinated by videogames and all of the different worlds you can experience. It was through videogames that I discovered my passion for CS. As I got older and fell in love with sports, I also started to realize the scope of software development and all the different fields I can explore and impact. Fitness wearables, web development, and mobile development are all areas I'm currently infatuated with. I can't wait to learn more and more about them.
